Just two more days to go before we leave for Gerry’s sabbatical trip to New Zealand and Australia. Reservations for accommodations are made, a car (with a steering wheel on the WRONG side!) is waiting, and we’re excited. There are stacks of stuff in our living room, not unusual when Gerry preps for a major trip — he plans to load up our suitcases today just to see if there are any things we’ve forgotten or not considered.
We both returned from our family Christmas with my folks in North Dakota (see family pics included) with a list of things that needed to get done before we left the country. I have one more major thing to do (which I’m procrastinating by messing around on this blog, trying to get familiar with all the options. Just in case you’re wondering, the photo at the top of this page was taken from the window of our AKn cabin.) — I don’t know where Gerry is on his list. He did create a print-out of our itinerary for our
families just today, so I’m thinking he’s zeroing in on the final things on his list.
It seems this really is going to happen — a good friend will take us to the airport Thursday around noon and then we’re off. We will try to update whenever we have wireless access, so stay tuned for additional news and photos … Jan and Gerry’s travels Down Under begin!
